Where Does the Name "SEFES" Come From?

The name SEFES is a combination of our founders' three children’s names: Seyit, Efe, and Semiha. What began as a family name has grown into a larger family of around 45 team members today.

And we mean it when we say family — many of our product models are named after our team members’ children or loved ones: Zeynep, Yasemin, Meral, Sinem, Sultan, and more. Every product we craft carries a name and a story.

How It All Began

Our story started in 1997, when we founded SEFES to sell a curated collection of Turkish handwoven rugs and kilims. Until 2002, we exported these traditional textile pieces to customers abroad.

In 2003, we expanded into chair manufacturing, and just a year later, added metal and upholstered bed frames to our production line. Today, SEFES specializes in producing metal and wooden chairs, as well as metal and upholstered beds — primarily for export.

Since 2006, we've also become a trusted project partner for restaurants and hotels, delivering tailored furniture solutions that blend durability with design.
